Build an AI-Powered Affiliate Dashboard (No Code)

You already automated affiliate income tracking. Now let’s turn that data into a live dashboard—Notion → Zapier → Google Sheets → Looker Studio. By the end, you’ll have real-time charts and a weekly email report you can read in minutes.

1) What You’ll Build (Beginner Friendly)

• One pipeline: new Notion rows flow into Google Sheets automatically.
• Live dashboard: Looker Studio charts for Earnings, Clicks, CVR, RPC.
• Weekly report: scheduled email (optional AI text summary).

2) Create a Notion Integration (API Key)

1. Open notion.so/my-integrations → click + New integration.
2. Name it (e.g., Affiliate Tracker) → Submit → copy the Internal Integration Token (this is your API key).
3. Open your Notion database (columns: Date, Network, Clicks, Conversions, Earnings, Top_Page, Notes).
4. Top-right ⋯ → Add connections → select your new integration to grant access.
5. (Optional) Find Database ID: in the database page URL, copy the long string after “/” and before “?v=”.

Tip: If you don’t connect the integration to the database, Zapier can’t see it.

3) Notion → Google Sheets via Zapier (No Coding)

Step A — Prepare your Google Sheet

1. Google Drive → + New → Google Sheets → name it Affiliate_Tracker.
2. Row 1 (headers): Date | Network | Clicks | Conversions | Earnings | Top_Page | Notes

Step B — Build the Zap

1. Zapier → Create Zap.
2. Trigger: Notion → New Database Item → choose your database → Test to pull a sample row.
3. Action: Google Sheets → Create Spreadsheet Row.
   Spreadsheet: Affiliate_Tracker → Worksheet: Sheet1 → map fields:
   Date → Date / Network (Title or Select) → Network / Numbers → Clicks, Conversions, Earnings / URL → Top_Page / Text → Notes
4. Turn Zap ON. New Notion rows will append to Sheets automatically.

Troubleshooting: If fields don’t appear, click Refresh fields in Zapier or ensure Notion properties use correct types (Date/Number/Select/URL).

4) Build a Looker Studio Dashboard

1. Open Looker Studio → Blank Report → Add data → Google Sheets → select Affiliate_Tracker.
2. Verify field types: Date=Date, Network=Text, Clicks/Conversions/Earnings=Number, Top_Page=URL.
3. Add charts:
   • Time series: Date vs. Earnings
   • Bar: Earnings by Network
   • Table: Top_Page, Clicks, Conversions, Earnings
4. Create calculated fields:
   • CVR = Conversions / Clicks
   • RPC (Revenue per Click) = Earnings / Clicks
5. Add Filter controls: Date range, Network. Keep the theme clean with your brand colors.

5) Schedule Weekly Email Reports

Option A — Looker Studio (PDF)

1. In Looker Studio: Share → Schedule email delivery.
2. Set Every Monday 09:00 → PDF → add your email.

Option B — Zapier + AI (text summary)

1. Zapier → Schedule by Zapier (weekly, Mon 09:00).
2. Action: Google Sheets → Lookup Many Spreadsheet Rows (filter last 7 days by Date).
3. Action: OpenAI (ChatGPT) → prompt:

   Using the last 7 days of data (Network, Clicks, Conversions, Earnings, Top_Page),
   write a 120–180 word summary:
   1) best-performing network & why,
   2) pages to scale,
   3) links to fix,
   4) one experiment for next week.

4. Action: Gmail/Email → send the AI summary to your inbox.

6) QA Checklist (Fix Issues Fast)

• No new rows? Ensure your Notion integration is connected to the database.
• Wrong numbers? Set Notion properties as Number, not Text.
• Time zone mismatch? Standardize to UTC in Zapier or format in Sheets.
• Duplicates? Add a helper column in Sheets: =TEXT(Date,"YYYY-MM-DD")&"-"&Network and filter uniques in Looker Studio.

7) Read the Dashboard Like a Pro

• Rising RPC → double-down on those pages and links.
• Low CVR → improve intent: CTA copy, placement, and offer relevance.
• Compare Networks by page type (review vs. tutorial) to spot patterns.
